a newer refrigerator technology uses high-intensity sound waves [of around 300 cycles per second] to separate cold from warm.

The move to digital projection has kept this (but does allow 48Hz projection)

The DCDM image structure is required to support a frame rate of 24.000 Hz. The DCDM image structure can also support a frame rate of 48.000 Hz for 2K image content only. The frame rate of any individual DCDM master is required to remain constant. Metadata is carried in the image data file format to indicate the frame rate.


Although other frame rates work on "most" systems.

According to the American Society of Cinematographers unwritten rules 48 hertz film projection was only allowed as an example of what not to do.

they are focused on the rear view mirror, looking to the past for excellence. collectively they are oblivious to judder and motion blur.

Unfortunately the American Society of Cinematographers has power. Try getting a job in Hollywood as a Cinematographer.after you have been banned from their organization for advocating higher frame rates.. The only way around this is to become a Hollywood Director.
