Is indecisiveness common amongst aspies?

The fact that I waited so long to post this is a perfect example of my indecisiveness. I had to learn how to make a decision and stick with it. In baseball, I was always that kid who was caught in an "imaginary" rundown all the time because I could never make the decision to run or not and was petrified of getting out.

I can see memories of myself in the video store as a child making my weekly selection and hearing my mother and brother simultaneously yelling "Come on just pick one so we can go!! !" I used to take a half hour or more and what's worse I always regretted my decision. I still spend weeks researching a purchase that would be considered routine or impulsive by most like a new pair of sneakers.

In a work situation I have no problem but personally, I dither for ages.

I am like Hamlet.

I am also very indecisive but for different reasons with different things. I'll try to explain to see if anyone can relate, it may be the aspergers.

As I am very aware that I do not take in as much as other people with peoples motives and body language, I constantly seek reassurance from friends as to whether a decision is right. It is when with I have to deal with another human being, whether it be a doctor, the phone company or any of lifes small things. It is hard to explain but there are so many examples.

Another reason I get reassurance for smaller things or the reason I ask if it is a good decision and feel messed up if I dont ask is because I have no self confidence in my own judgement and ability. Maybe this is partly influenced by knowing I have a development disorder.

Anyway, thanks for listening.

Yes terribly. To the point where I can spend 15 minutes on deciding wether I´m gonna have the vanilla tea or the caramel tea.
Things like that.

I am very indecisive. Making decisions is difficult, and it takes forever.

Yes. I mean... no? I mean... uh... come back to me.

Feels like such a responsibility, so many potential repercussions- no matter ther size of the decision. it can take me months to decide if I really want something. And if it is a decision that involves someone else, forget it!

I can identify with this, as well, but only when it comes to on-the-spot decisions when being faced with new stimuli. I think it has to do with slow processing speed. However, when I finally process everything in my mind in its entirety, it doesn't take me long to decide upon a course of action.

Very indecisive at times...at least until I make my mind up. Once I do though I tend to be very good at committing to something I have decided to do or at standing by my decision. Until I change my mind that is...then I have to decide what I am going to do etc all over again.

Oh dear god.

I always regret the decisions I make too. I have buyer's remorse over pretty much every purchase I've ever made.

luckily for me, the buyer's remorse morphed into something called experience.

Unluckily for me, I have to make the same mistake over and over again before the lesson sticks...

Sometimes. It really depends upon how much is on my mind at the time.

I am always indecisive. And it bothers my parents and sibling a lot.
