It's why I hate to go grocery shopping.

I am completely indecisive. I second-guess nearly everything I do.

I am VERY indecisive. I'll spend days\ weeks trying to decide which to buy when I'm looking at different rc cars, helicopters and parts.

I don't know ... maybe ... maybe not ... what do you think?

Very. When I was younger I would have meltdowns if my mom wouldn't make certain decisions for me. It's not the life-changing decisions that get me, it's the nagging, everyday stuff.

This makes me wonder: Is indecisiveness common among psychoanalysts?

As for the original question, I'd say indecisiveness is definitely a problem for me, anyway... though I'm not formally diagnosed at this point.

Indecisive is a survial skill, and becoming decisive takes more effort that people realize.

In the modern world, there are so many decisions to be made (Do I want the curbie fruitcake, or the meltdown shake?), and it's easy to become indecisive.

I don't see this as an Aspie/NT issue.

I am a very indecisive person. The main thing I have trouble with is my special interests - namely, figuring out what I enjoy intensely enough to be considered a special interest, and whether or not I am still passionate about interests that I have already had for a long time.

I have probably driven a lot of people on this site (and in real life) crazy with the number of times I have changed my mind about it... I know that a couple of times I have almost fallen into despair over it and felt like I was literally driving myself crazy over it...

I dunno if you would describe me as indecisive, or not.

At some point, I wonder if i've spent way to much time in the video store selecting a game or movie.

it took me decades of life experience to learn how to be less indecisive.

The fact that I waited so long to post this is a perfect example of my indecisiveness. I had to learn how to make a decision and stick with it. In baseball, I was always that kid who was caught in an "imaginary" rundown all the time because I could never make the decision to run or not and was petrified of getting out.

I can see memories of myself in the video store as a child making my weekly selection and hearing my mother and brother simultaneously yelling "Come on just pick one so we can go!! !" I used to take a half hour or more and what's worse I always regretted my decision. I still spend weeks researching a purchase that would be considered routine or impulsive by most like a new pair of sneakers.
