Does anyone know of any reputable five factor personality model tests? I have become interested in it after I discovered research that maps concentrations of each five factors in every ZIP code across the U.S. As I am moving soon and have the option of a few different cities, I may find this to be a useful tool.

I assume you did a Google search? But here is the first one that came up for me: http://www.utpsyc.org/Big5/ or the next: http://www.outofservice.com/bigfive/

Also, where could I find the website that shows personality types by zip code? Thanks in advance.

I did do a Google search, but Google doesn't know everything.

The map is linked below, covering both the U.S. and Canada. Someone else did the research (forgot who) but the presenter, Richard Florida, is a well known urban expert. You see obvious patterns of personality (e.g. The New York region has an extremely high concentration of neurotic people).

They have a lot of research supporting their version of the Big Five, which is available online.

I don't understand these tests at all. I guess I'm deluded about myself. I would rate myself as very open to new experiences but every test says I'm the opposite. Even the tests don't convince me. How can I be so off-base with my own identity?

Thanks. I just took that one, and I'm impressed. That said, I rank low in "Openness to Experience." That surprised me. I really appreciate art, and my current job is actually in writing. Oh well. I guess I am only bummed about it because our culture trumpets those open to new experiences as the ones who make money and get laid.
