My son tried out for band this year and was selected to play drums and he loves it!! I was upset because the GATE coordinator told me not be disapointed if he could not keep up. I was sure that he would be fine and he is. So I was just wondering how many aspies play intruments....

If I had more reason or didn't move around so much earlier, I would be playing piano and guitar. So the ability certainly isn't even lost on us aspies that DON'T have a talent for music. I DO have a great ear for pitch though.

I sing, and music is important to me, but I can't play any instrument. It may be laziness, but I think it's because of my clumsiness: my motorics are not enough for a guitar or such.

I can play the radio. :D

Ok, Bad joke. (I tried).

I actually play several insturments. Oboe, piccolo and flute are my main ones but I can play just about anything a little bit. I love trying to play different insturments. I have trouble though, with rhythms (performing them, I can count them out just find), and I tend to move my finders very stiffly and lock my finger joints while playing. My pinky fingers allways stick out no matter what insturment I'm playing. I have a great deal of trouble with dynamics too.

I play 12 instruments, and compose. My main instrument is the clarinet, which I've been playing for almost 14 years. I plan to make a career out of playing the clarinet and composing.
