what are some the positive things about having aspergers syndrome
all my life i have been told of the things i can't do
because of who i am
so anything you could tell would be most helpful

It is very easy for me to troubleshoot and correct problems in mechanical and software systems. I have an intuition about such systems that most people do not. I believe this is one of the expressions of my autistic genes and special interests.

This is very useful at work and I often play the role of interpreter between systems and artists. My boss asks me to write training material because he knows I can translate the engineer thinking behind the screen into terms the artists and designers understand.

If some of the things people say you can't do are things you want to do, in general don't listen to them. If they think it's because you lack the skills in something, you can always pick them up. You may have a different way of learning and picking up those skills with AS but it doesn't mean you can't.
