I'm really hoping to find people in the Greater Vancouver area who are diagnosed, self or otherwise, as an adult with AS.

I feel like I'm the only one in my province or something.

I'm 38 but I feel like I've just been reborn and have the chance to do it all over again, the right way...now that I know what's wrong with me.

But I need help and I'm not finding much of it out there, not for adults anyways.

I'd start my own support group in my area, but I don't really like people too much lol.

Catch 22

Anyway, I'm a total noob to the boards so I have some cruising around to do.
Just thought I'd start by saying Hello.....hello :D and see who's around.

Hey Elsie -
I kinda know how you feel.
I live in the Kootenays, and I think there's even fewer aspies here.
I too want to meet some like minded people in person.
I get down to the coast once in a while - maybe we can connect...?
I will post my 'Hello' as well - see B.C. AsP

I'm in New West...who are you seeing for treatment? I was diagnosed with Asperger's alongside ADHD, for which I'm obtaining treatment via Children's Hospital's ADHD clinic.

Treatment? I can get treatment????
I was with SunnyHill in 1973....they sent me home after almost a year of observations and no conclusive diagnosis.

There it got left.
When I was 30 I got dx for ADD (my avi is about as hyper as I get lol).
I just finally got my first psychiatrist this last summer (8 years later), and Asperger's became a hot topic.

I've contacted a couple of places but it's all for children and I can't get an official dx from anyone.

Can children's hospital help a 38 year old??

AHA! that explains the trip to Gastown.
I haven't been there for awhile. My last visit was to the Storyeum. Too bad it went under (no pun intended)
