Risking students' lives in North Korea was worth it, says BBC
  • Putting the lives of students at risk during the making of a Panorama report about North Korea was justified by the access the trip provided, the BBC has said.
The broadcaster has faced a barrage of criticism after sending a crew to work undercover in the secretive communist country among a group of students from the London School of Economics (LSE).

The LSE claims key information was withheld from students, who were used "as a human shield" and placed in danger.

But the BBC has defended its actions and defied calls to drop the programme, which will be broadcast tonight on BBC One.
