Last year I was diagnosed with Asperger's and in the report I was told I was not very creative. I agreed with most of the report but didn't really agree with the part about not being creative and so I wanted to prove that I could be creative in my own way. So at first I wanted to make a video game to show my creativity but then I realized I didn't have the resources needed to make a game, so I turned to music. When I finished my album I wanted to release it exclusively on Megabox (Kim Dotcom's music service that was killed when the FBI shutdown Megaupload) but there have been delays because of the legal situation, so I waited but had to look at other options.

The music takes you on a journey with a small part of the story that I wanted to use for my video game, you can read the full story that goes with my music on my website and listen to the full album on Youtube.

Hopefully there are people here that enjoy this kind of music.

I just list listened to a few tracks on YouTube. You're pretty creative despite what your diagnostician told you last year. Good luck with the album.

Cool, I'm going to give it a listen. What musical gear do you need to record 8-bit music?

I think diagnosticians or whatever are incompetent at identifying creativity.

I liked it! You're creative for sure, take no notice of negative things people say. I especially liked the story behind the album and each track, such a nice touch =)

My fave track was 'Firefight' which honestly I think you should create a non-8-bit version of also it would make for great workout music!

Sounds good.

How do you make this kind of music? Some computer program?

Thanks for the feedback guys, I used Audacity to make the chiptunes, it was extremely painful having to stick to opensource software and not having the actual tools pros use. I was thinking of using software that runs on the old game boy but then I thought the analog to digital sound conversion would not come out too good on a home setup.

Yes, there are some tutorials on youtube that I wasted my time doing to get started but it is harder then other methods of making chiptunes because you have to put chip sounds together in a way that sounds decent. I have seen the gameboy chiptune cartridge videos on youtube and it looked easier on that, I also recently saw that Pixelh8 made a ds composer, I probably should have used that as it looks easier. The way I did it is time consuming but if you don't have much money Audacity is free and open source and it gets the job done if you have lots of time. If you guys like my music feel free to share my site with friends by clicking the share button on the site.

If you consider bandcamp it might be a bit more accessible. Or youtube or soundclound.

I tried setting up Bandcamp today but it requires a PayPal account to setup properly, which I am not willing to use. I did manage to set it up somewhat but the music is not available.

As for YouTube, it has been available from the start just check my website and SoundCloud is coming but not available yet as CDbaby has not distributed it to them yet but it is coming eventually.
