How many people here read this book?

What did you like about it. Did you understand it? Did it make you laugh or cry? Which character is most like you?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catch-22 here is the description for those who did not read it.

It is basically a book that describes the absurdity of war and the way people deal with it.

Any favorite quotes?

Catch 22 is my favorite fiction.

I like Major Major Major Major who jumps out the window whenever someone comes to see him and Havermeyer who shoots field mice in his tent.

I haven't read it in a while, but it's a book I like to go back to. Even though it's about the absurdity of war, it translates to everyday life so often. As much as I liked Yossarian, I was always most sympathetic for Major Major Major Major.

When I studied it at school the first thing I did was make a time chart of exactly what happened and when. the chart gave me great pleasure. I wish I'd kept it. Looking back it was probably a classic autistic approach :)

I once read almost half of it but had to put it down. I will go back to it one day but I don't know when that will be.

If anyone wants to encourage me, please do.

It shows how people live in war in a very satirical way. There are lot of characters and all of them have different problems, but all have one problem which is surviving the war. It is also about analyzing different characters and there are lots of comical situations. Some of the characters are very neurotic like Yossarian and others are doing crazy things. I think it is best up to reader to decide.
