I prefer to use over sized headphones at night when im playing a game and then switching to my surround sound in the day beacause i have a Xbox and sometimes switch between PC games and Xbox.

I always use speakers. I don't find headphones comfortable.

Headphones are great for music, but most video games have sound effects that are too jarring or repetitive to warrant the use of headphones.

I'll use headphones if a game has a particularly good soundtrack or well produced sound design.

Half Life 2 is a great headphones game.

I use headphones if the game is in a language that I don't want my parents to hear. Oh, Persona.

I always use speakers, even when I'm playing at night, which doesn't happen too often. My bedroom is fairly soundproof, but I turn down the sound anyways. I don't even know how to connect headphones to my tv, and I'd need ones with a long wire for that. The only exception for me is with handheld games. Even with handheld games, I usually just use the speakers, but if I ever take my systems out with me(which doesn't happen often either), or if I'm playing a handheld game at night, I often do use headphones.

I only use headphones if I have to, like if someone else is trying to watch TV, etc. And even then, I'll usually just put it on mute if it's not something I really need to hear, or play something else on mute if I do need to hear.

I voted all the time, but my current headphones are broken.

There's a good chance I'll get some new ones soon, however.

All the time. Good headphones give you potentially the best quality, here is the proof:

Warning, it's too realistic!

Wouldn't be able to play a game without my 7.1 Logitech Headphones. Unfortunately they do run out of battery at times and I have to use a pair of speakers while they charge but I never play games during this time. I need 7.1 or it's like I am missing out on so much that I need to effectively determine where the footsteps and gunfire of the enemy are coming from.

Always headphones. Firstly, because I'm always paranoid that the noise is going to annoy somebody, and secondly, I like the surround-sound effect, especially for Skyrim. Makes me feel like I'm really there and all that. :)

I mostly use headphone when watching a movie because they help me block everything off and focus, video games require so much attention that I don't really need headphones to block anything off.

I switch back and forth, though I prefer to play my BLOPSII with 'phones. I can hear most of the fools tromping around a mile away and know almost exactly the direction they're coming from. 8) 8) 8)

Speakers only. I don't think I'm usually annoying though, because I can't focus if the game music/sounds are loud or grating, so I never have the sound on more than low.

Depends on the headphones, a decent sennheiser pair of heads will improve the experience. I did have surround sound headphones before and they made playing games more immersive.

I never said I annoyed people, just that I don't give a crap if I do.

Most of the time, the most annoying thing I do to my parents is let my little brother play co-op with me in rated M games. He's eight. Whatever, he's the only person around to play with, and some games need multiple players to get the best experience.
