I think it entirely possible that there will be another civil war in America within the next 50 years, especially if the U.S. continues to decline. The government, made up of politicians who represent the corporations that finance them, has managed to divide the people almost perfectly 50/50 into Republicans and Democrats who increasingly loathe and blame each other for all the nation's many ills. Eventually all those deluded (and poorly educated) souls will rise up, not against their corrupt government, but against one other. Maybe someone desires that outcome, but more likely it is just a side effect of the greed and short-sightedness our culture so highly values.
