I think "Brick" from 40 yr-old virgin displayed WAY more aspie traits.

Napoleon can dance though.... and I seem to remember a previous poll here where an overwhelming majority of ppl said they couldn't &/or didn't like dancing.

I say he's just nerdy.

edit: Oh... and wouldn't he have gone off on his mom (or aunt or granmother~w/e ) for saying "quesa-dil-uh" instead of quesadilla? Even that drove me batty!

Brick from "Anchorman"
Brendan from "Brick"
Steve Carell's character from "The 40-Year-Old-Virgin"

All displayed some Aspie traits one way or the other.

Heh heh.

In my freshman year, {I am now a junior} I used to write on the back of my papers, especially ones for Algebra.

If papers = exams, I did it too , only once :P I was so bored in programming class, I was like 16 at that time, and drew a LARGE smiley face on the back of one page in my exam
and handed it like that to my teacher...

I thought that before. Because he rode a bycycle (even though he worked a job that could earn him a car)

And his social-interaction wasn't as good as his friends's

Plus he collected action-figures, lotsa them!

I watched that and thought it was pretty dumb.

There was some bits which stuck out and were funny like when he was dancing.

But in all, I found it stupid.

Heh, funny this topic should come up. I was just watching this the other day and thinking, "It seems like half the people in this movie have AS..." :P

Of course the people in it were just actors, but I wonder if the director was influenced at all by Asperger's he knew in real life...

I thought it was mildly funny... at some parts...

Not true at all. I'm pretty sure I'm AS and I'm absolutely horrible at art. Logic is my strength and creativity is my weakness.

Now I remember! Steve Carell's character from 40-Year-Old-Virgin was named Andy.

I had to laugh when he was dancing when the music stopped and he didn't know what to do and turns and runs off the stage.

I read in several interviews Jon Heder had over and over claimed that Napoleon Dynamite was never intended to portray any 'mental illness' or disorder... that he was just intended as a kinda a sterotypical geek type character, a character with bits and pieces that a larger audience could in some ways relate too. I can't remember the websites now as it's been well over a year or so since I read them.

We heard you the first time.

But that doesn't mean the character didn't turn out to have AS traits, regardless of what Heder was trying to do.
