I do swimming :D
I used to be in the swimming team before my weight dropped drastically.
My best is backstroke and 2nd best breaststroke.
Still can't do butterfly but I'm pretty good at dolphin kick :P
I have an interhouse swimming competition on Tuesday and I'm doing 2 length backstroke DDDD: (1 lenght = 43.5m!! !!)

I learned how to swim relatively late in life, at age 22, due to the recommendation of my physical therapist, to strengthen my back muscles to hopefully reduce the incidence of my "wry neck" as a symptom of my thoracic scoliosis. it took me about 3 months to learn how to do the basics of the crawl/back strokes, as well as learning how to tread water and rotate my body while submerged in water. I found that if I swam down the lane crawl-style while returning on my back [stroke] that it was an elegant way to swim my mile's worth of laps. after a hard day at work, I could often be found at the YMCA pool swimming my aquatic mile. the water was so calming, relaxing, as it caressed my body while flowing through it. I had to give it up in 2006 when I got laid off from my civil service job, the YMCA dues got to be too much for me to afford. I miss it. :hmph:

Im new to swimming. Ok, Im new to swimming in the deep end. Usually I do 500-1000 yard swim.
However I can't swim in the middle of a pool. I always have to be near the edge of the pool.
