Hmm....I'm under the impression he was the problem. Have you read his autobiography?

I used to be a diehard fan (go to gigs too), but his politics don't agree with me at all. I haven't listened to anything he's released in the past several years. Took me a while to start listening to his music again....there are good memories attached to the older stuff and I'm not giving them up because of his views!

He was the problem, but the other three did record before breaking up. So I'm still curious, though I doubt we'll ever hear it.

I definitely disagree with his politics, too. But, unless they're part of the music I'll ignore him and enjoy the records.

Are his recent albums any good? Ring Leader of the Tormentors is my fave. It's stunning.

I think the last one I heard was Years of Refusal, which had some good songs. Mostly I stick with Viva Hate through Southpaw Grammar.

Pride & Prejudice, by Jane Austen (pub.1813)

This title came up in a discussion about required reading in AP courses.  All I could remember about it was the opening line and that it seemed to have too much dialog and practically no action.  Someone suggested I re-read it "with an open mind"; so now I am into the 10th chapter, and my first impressions are confirmed.

It took a few chapters to re-realize what all the dialog was about -- gossip, much like what I overhear in the break room during lunch at work.

I believe Ms. Austen's work may have been largely biographical, but I could be wrong.

I think her books are alright, when taken in the context of early 19th-century English culture and morals.

By modern-day standards?  Meh.
