Nice  ( ... creds to his wife Harriet Taylor Mill, as well).

Later, by Stephen King.

Starting from an early age, Jaimie, can see and speak to the dead. He takes this talent with him into a dark adulthood.
So far, pretty good.

Just started, but so far entertaining. Funny to see him emulate Wilde and Dickens, to an extent.

I’ve discovered that I like reading books about things that happened in real life, not just fiction. Reality books, is what I read now.

I'm starting the fifth essay. I'm rather obsessed with narrative structures.

I’m on the chapter where she’s outlining the case for the dual idea that “we” (both popular culture and many people’s unconscious bias) values talent above hard work, but she asserts that effort counts twice as much (or really, the square of effort):

Talent x Effort = improvements in Skill

Skill x Effort = productivity or achievements

(Note: She says these “equations” do simplify the real world impacts of luck, opportunity, and resources—for example, a great coach or teacher at the right time in an athlete or student’s development can make a huge impact. But, she is saying it does make an important point about the psychological factors that any particular person should value: namely that effort is what you can control, and that it counts twice [or the square of it] towards outcomes!)

Diary of a Murderer And Other Stories written by Kim Young-ha

I wanted to watch "Memoir of a murderer", but it wasn't available anywhere. So now I'll read it instead. I only just started it last night, and so far I like it.

What is your opinion so far?

@ Everyone: Other than reading assignments for my class,
I am reading (whenever I have had the time to do so)
Charlesgate Confidential, a hard crime novel by Scott Von Doviak.
