It is something that you are born with. It's not something you can just take a Pill for. It's Hard-Wired into the brain. Maybe, just Maybe some social "Training" may be possible or Therapy to an extent. Your mileage may vary though.

It might be something were born with but I still think it could be fixed to an extent if not entirely. I think all congenital defects like spina bifida, down syndrome, cystic fibrosis, autism and others are congenital nutrient deficiencies in the womb. Everyone knows SB is folate deficiency, CF is selenium, down syndrome is zinc and B12, and autism? .... There was a report on the radio I heard saying "research in europe" shows congenital folate deficiency could be linked to autism. It could be many other things. Some doctors say GFCF diet helps some autistic children. It could be a multitude of different problems causing similar symptoms in everyone thus being put somewhere on the "spectrum".

sort out having a decent quality of life by working on the issues have got and building coping strategies,not dream for cures that are impossible in our lifetime.

autists who complain but dont work on their impairing issues wont get anywhere,am speaking as someone who had that attitude due to having a very low quality of life as a result of severe autism and learning disability,how ever it wasnt the disabilities that caused it, it was a decade of sht treatment from the institution and residential homes of a particular learning disability service,in many cases it was worse than the winterbourne scandal but got covered over thanks to the staff backing each other up, and all of us having our autism and LD used against our ability to understand.
have been in a specialist service for the past four years that deals with severe and profound autism and have changed outlook completely thanks it being a completely different world,am accessing many different types of therapy and accessing medication and equipment shoud have been given years ago.

people need to work on themselves and not expexct some miracle to come.
