Who does this?

EquestriatoLA does this at times. EquestriatoLA doesn't know why, though.

*hands up*,though its mainly in verbal speech, also understand people better when am refered to in the first person by others.
was bullied for talking in first person online and am unable to speak any other way apart from a very limited number [one?] of pronouns,am sent into overload by normal pronouns;its like looking at a complex concept, used to write them by rote memory but was sat here through the whole day trying to post one message with them in because of how overloaded woud become, its easier to use a pronoun that am able to feel connection to and feel some understanding of.

I used to but the teachers at school made me stop.

Did you know that in Japan, a lot of women refer to themselves by their own name (instead of using 'she') in casual settings, like around people close to them or at home? Not at work or school though. It's considered very girlish by some people, too.

I do this regularly, mostly without realizing it. It happens more when I am very excited, anxious, tired, etc.

Most people think I am weird when I do it, and/or get confused.

I used to do it quite a bit when I was younger, but as a previous poster noted, my teachers made me stop.

Remember that Seinfeld where Elaine and Jerry and George all went to the same gym and there was this annoying guy there Jimmy who always did that and he was friends with a hot guy that Elaine wanted to go out with? Jimmy wanted to go out with Elaine so he told her "Jimmy wants to take you out" and Elaine thought Jimmy was the hot guy.

I think that was the same gym that JFK Jr went to in "Master of my Domain".

I've never done that, but when people sometimes do it, I find it funny.

I was once on a forum where you were not supposed to implicate yourself in certain things so you called yourself SWIM (someone who isn't me). Like you would say "SWIM went to the store today to get a Coke but all they had was Pepsi and that made her sad".

After posting on it a while, when I would go to post somewhere else I would catch myself writing SWIM.

I am trying to understand. Are you non verbal and are only able to speak in written form? Or are you only able to speak written and verbal in the first person?

I have done it and do it but extremely rarely. If I do it is is usually during a fear or anxiety meltdown.
