No, I don't think so. It just depends on what kind of person you are. Obviously anxiety comes with AS, and can make the individual feel afraid to drink alcohol if the anxiety affects you in that way, along with other things that could be related to drinking alcohol, like socialising (most people like to drink alcohol when socialising). I'm afraid to drink alcohol because I'm scared of losing my self-awareness/self-control and I might embarrass myself in the street in front of lots of youngsters and then I will wake up the next morning hung over (and I have emetophobia which is fear of vomiting), but also being the laughing stock of the town (and I have social phobia, which is fear of humiliation).
I think I was put off when I heard about a girl with social issues who I used to be friends with. She had Fragile-X Syndrome, but was also socially awkward and didn't have many friends, so she started going out with her sister and all her sister's friends when she got to about 18. Then I heard on Facebook that this girl had got drunk for the first time and was so drunk that she didn't know what she was doing, and ended up dancing about in one spot with her skirt and knickers around her ankles, showing her private area off to the men, and then some perverted men came along and took her away and had sex with her, and nobody else stopped it because they were drunk themselves (but didn't seem to be doing anything embarrassing like that).
That is one reason why I would NEVER want to get drunk. That is just not me.
