I'm high functioning and when I can I drink a lot to escape life. Beer doesn't do much to me until I have 3 or 4. Mostly Yukon Jack, about an 1/8th of a bottle to feel extremely buzzed for a few hours. Have to say I only drink (meaning even in small sips) about 2 or 3 times a year. I don't like the damage it does to the body but it feels good.

Do any of you drink?

I had a drinking problem in my early 20s but have been a teetotaler now for the last 10 years.

My throat is sensitive to carbonated drinks so I only drink water. I have tried a corkscrew (vodka + orange juice) and I received a nasty headache, severe dehydration, and painful urination. I barely got drunk for 10-15 minutes after drinking a few glasses within a hour.

I do not care how if it is a social etiquette to drink alcoholic beverages in certain events. I receive hardly any benefits and a bunch of negative side effects.

I have drunk alcohol in the past, but I never really liked it, so I stopped drinking it.
I drink mostly tea now.

The orginial poster meant someone who is absent from any alcoholic product when he's referring to non drinkers.

Niether actively drink, nor actively abstain.

Have a beer with friends occasionally.

I neither like the taste of alcohol nor the effects that I am led to believe it would have on me (medication of any sort tends to make me sleepy, so alcohol, a depressant, would probably serve the sole purpose of making me fall asleep and be terribly nauseous in the morning), though part of the reason that I am a non-drinker may be due to the fact that I am not yet of the age that one is "expected" to have alcohol in public.

I drink very rarely, and when I do, I drink a lot. When I'm lost for words or not really involved in the conversation I drink, and I drink very fast. I quickly go from being funny and entertaining to disturbing.

Don't think I'll be drinking much in the future. I don't see the point of wine with dinner or a beer after work, and I've suffered too much from drunkenness.

Used to drink moderately, but as I got older I became less tolerant to it.
I miss having the occasional sip of wine or beer but the game ain't worth the candle now. I feel dreadful after a few mouthfuls.

I can count on 2 hands the times ive been drinking.

No dont drink, i dont get and understand the purpose. It just seems like one more of those NT things to ruins your body and health and for what ?.

I mean i get that you are considered wierd by them when you dont drink. But its just so pointless. what is the point ?.

Its funny because often people comment like, why do you workout when you dont drink. its like well if you workout you better get your ass into town to show it off or something..

Normal people and their illogical events.

I snuck a sip of my dad's beer when I was six. Other than that, I have never drank an ounce of beer.

They're referring to drinking beverages that contain alcohol.
