I haven't seen a thread on this yet, so I thought I'd start one. Have you guys seen this? According to none other than Temple Grandin's mother, autistic males are computers with the emotions of a ten year old who want other ten year olds to teach them sexuality, hence leading us towards online child porn. I'm sorry, but WHAT?

Original article: http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2 ... ation.html

A great analysis of the article by a Forbes columnist: http://www.forbes.com/sites/emilywillin ... rnography/

I'm also in the middle of ripping this apart on my blog, I should have the post up soon. How do people get away with saying these things?

No, autistic/asperger's men are no more prone to this than anyone else. This is complete horses**t.

This is why I hate being an Aspie (along with many other reasons). We get accused of being everything society frowns upon.

I don't know how people get away with publishing such things. But it does look like there is backlash against her article.

I think the only way I could be mistaken for a predator (which most people assume women aren't anyway) is because of my special interests in child-like things and hobbies. In reality I wouldn't go NEAR children if I could avoid them because they're noisy, messy, act like brats and get away with it because of their clueless parents, and worst of all they spread disease worse than cockroaches, plague rats, and mosquitoes combined. Just the other day I went to a teddy bear's picnic at the park alone just to check it out. I brought a teddy but kept it hidden in a tote bag so people wouldn't automatically assume that I'm mentally challenged.

There is already a debate about this here:
