I choke on soda a lot. Does this happen to anyone else?

Sometimes the bubbles hurt me and I can't get it down my throat. I don't drink a lot of soda, though.
:D I do tend to look like an idiot when drinking any liquid, because I choke on it more often than any other person that I know, resulting in sputtering and it shooting out my nose! So, I suppose I choke on soda no more than I do regular liquids, but more often than other people would!

I have an easier time drinking tea than soda for those reasons that you've both mentioned. Tea's probably better for me, anyways. I only put Splenda or Stevia in it.

I usually can't drink much soda because the bubbles hurt my stomach.

You cant even drinnk soda, if you dont go it regulary.

Took something like a few weeks ago, havent been drinking any soda for many years, all that bubble thingy, not only did i get the hiccups, but that wierd thing where the soda comes out of your nose happened.

Its undrinkable.

besides i much prefer plain water, it tastes amazing, when you get away from the sugar water. But it takes your taste buds 2-4 weeks to adjust to water.

I couldn't drink soda at all when I was a kid because the bubbles hurt my mouth so much. I could tolerate it now but it is very unhealthy so I don't drink soda.

I normally dilute my soda with one part water, one part fruit juice. now and then it is one part water and one part Gatorade. the carbonation is less intense that way.

I enjoy drinking fizzy drinks. I know people say it's bad for you but.....

Fizzy drinks don't make me choke though, never have done. The only thing I hate is when I'm about to drink more and I burp into the bottle or cup. Feels and sounds so uncontrollable, sometimes like Barney on the Simpsons  .
Some people try to amplify their burps though, just so make a ''I can burp louder than you'' point. I don't care who can burp how loud, and if I did try to amplify a burp it probably will make me choke.

when I drink an undiluted fizzy drink, I often feel a very hot gas cloud go up into my sinuses.

Carbonated bevvies don't make me choke.
I get choking when I try to talk and swallow at same time.
For soda, I like Jones' bubblegum flavor (and it's bright blue !)
and Sprite or ginger ale. I only drink one every once in a while, not often.

I drink only diet beverages, with the occasional exception of a good sweet hard cider.

Yeah, I choke on it quite often because it'll start to go down the wrong way and my oesophagus will close to leave my windpipe open. I'm always keen on blurting out before I think of doing so.

Some of you ought to buy my homebrew soda, because my latest batch really isn't at all that fizzy. It'd be a flop in that sense to most people.
