Well, sometimes facing your fears in small doses can help you to gradually overcome them. But you have to decide and feel it for yourself if it's helping you or making you feel more anxious.

The process of facing a phobia/fear "head-on" is called 'Flooding'.
The reason it works is because often a phobia/fear isn't based on fact, and by forcing ourselves to face it, after a few attempts and by gradually increasing the "exposure" we may learn that there isn't anything to be afraid of.
