Cooler weather, picturesque trees and my birthday.

My birthday (10/22)
Halloween
Thanksgiving
Lovely weather
Beautiful trees
Festive food (pumpkin pie, apple cider, etc.)

chestnuts
pumpkins
sweet potatoes
autumn leaves
a certain type of grape

Definitely the leaves changing

There's something very festive about the fall season. It's very relaxing, with the weather cooling down and all the colorful leaves on the ground. Plus they signal the approaching Final Big Three of the year: Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

I like to imagine myself living in New England and walking down a neighborhood some time around Halloween season wearing a sweater, taking in the cool temperatures and picturesque scenes of autumn leaves in trees and on the sidewalks, and looking at pumpkins sitting out in people's front yards, and seeing a couple of cats sitting on front porches for good measure.

I live in Texas. I've seen none of that (except the "cats" bit). The temperatures are likely going to stay in the 70s and 80s all month. Yee-haw.

With all the leaves.

The smell,the sweet tannin smell of the leaves.
The sound of the crickets.
The colors.
The color of the sky.
Goldenrod and asters.
Migratory birds.
Sitting outside at night and looking at the stars without getting bit by bugs.

These photos are from the last year. I tend to go out more in autumn because it's not too hot or cold and the usually-ordinary sceneries become more beautiful in this season. And it's true that there is something exciting about autumn maybe because Christmas and New Year are coming and food is very delicious.

The local Fall Fairs, Oktoberfest and a trend towards cooler weather.

I love the weather becoming cooler and love the food served in the winter such as butternut squash, chili, stews, etc.

Love the beautiful trees in the Falls also.

In the country where I live there are pumpkins being harvested for Fall and it is so much to drive by and see all the pumpkins growing in the field.
