^It would be a courtesy if you named the full names of the characters involved behind the ship name portmanteau, and if you mentioned the show they're from.

I just watched the final couple of episodes of Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex (the first season), and I've come to the conclusion that Motoko and Batou are made for each other. I love their interaction at the end of episode 25.

That's all I got for now.

I am really into crossover ships, and also slash/femslash.

My favorite fictional characters right now, and the ones I've been obsessed with for about the past 4 months, are Maxwell and Wilson from Don't Starve, and Alexander and Daniel from Amnesia: The Dark Descent.

That being said, my OTPs at the moment are Maxwell/Alexander and Wilson/Daniel. I am also more than happy to ship Alexander/Daniel and Maxwell/Wilson. (Maybe because they're secretly my OT4...)

I have too many to name, but my current favorite is Scourtney, (Scott/Courtney from Total Drama).

Apparently we are not talking about boats or companies like FedEX, DHL & UPS.

There is a new use for the word "ship"?

Google-translation-computer says "No".

I am as well still questioning myself, what could be meant. ^^

Edit: I thin urban dictionary, offers an explanation:

Quote:
1. ship
N: Short for romantic relationship, popularized in fanfiction circles.

V: To endorse a romantic relationship.

N: I see a 'ship developing between Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley.

V: I ship Ron/Hermione

So, essentially the OP is asking what fictional characters on TV we are interested in sexually?
"who would we 'do' on TV?"

Aeryn Sun on farscape... and Chiana

You're actually half-right.

Fanshipping is pretty much fans of a certain tv show, anime or movie imagining a relationship forming between two characters based on perceived romantic interests. In some cases, it's valid, such as the relationship slowly forming between Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley in Harry Potter (even if, in my opinion, the movie adaptations handled it very clumsily but then again, I was never a fan of David Yates' directing - he did the last 5 movies), whereas other times it's can be debate-worthy and influenced by personal taste or fan-wants and desire. Anyway, fanshippers tend to refer to their couples by intertwining their names, which can be pretty confusing for people who don't know the characters in question or are familiar with the series fanshippers refer to.

I don't particularly care for it myself since relationships are beyond my understanding but whatever works for people, I guess.

I mostly have canon ships, because those usually make the most sense to me.

I don't, my life is messed up and I don't want to ruin anymore shows for other people

if I like a couple they either break up or one of them dies - so to help everyone elses enjoyment I stopped

it has to do with watching a show and identifying/being a fan of a couple

shipping
A term used to describe fan fictions that take previously created characters and put them as a pair. It usually refers to romantic relationships, but it can refer platonic ones as well. (Just think of "shipping" as short for "relationSHIP".)
It generally uses the initials of the characters shipped or a combination of the names, though this is not a rule.

AMshipping
AM-shipping
AM shipping
Ash & Misty shipping

Paily ( Paige & Emily ), Spoby ( Spencer & Toby ) and Haleb ( Hanna & Caleb ) on Pretty Little Liars
Caskett ( Castle & Beckett ) on Castle
Tiva ( Tony & Ziva ) on NCIS
Doccubus ( Bo & Lauren ) on Lost Girl

Not really big on the name fusions personally, and no idea what the following would be but:

Tommy & Kat on Power Rangers ( MMPR, Zeo & Turbo )
Silverbolt & Black Arachnia on Beast Wars ( screw Beast Machines, it was terrible )
Gwen & Kevin on Ben 10
Buffy & Spike on Buffy The Vampire Slayer ( sorry Angel fans, but Spike actively sought out his soul & earned it for Buffy no curse required )
Piper & Leo on Charmed
Skye & Ward and FitzSimmons on Agents of SHIELD
Kaylee & Simon on Firefly/Serenity
Sara/Black Canary and Nyssa on Arrow

I ship...

Esteban and Zia, from The Mysterious Cities of Gold

The Fourth Doctor and the Second Romana (it's better than calling her 'Fred') from Doctor Who

The Eighth Doctor and Grace Holloway, also from Doctor Who

There I can't think of any others...
