You are inspiring!

I am still aspiring... but when I get from work, I will ignore my family in the name of art!! ! (wait, that doesn't sound right... I'll have to make it up to them in December)

Blinded by the light, knowing nothing of days
I've got a Jesus handbag, a Jesus handbag
Drowning on the shore, giving nothing away
I've got a Jesus handbag, a Jesus handbag

Ladies and gentleman, we have a chorus! WOOOO! :D

(looking B-D-E and B-A-G/B-A-E for prechorus)

Painful education, what can I say
I turn to escape but I can’t get away
In a situation bleeding out of control
I’m stumbling into cracks, I’m feeling for the holes
I have only one salvation
There’s only one shot at redemption…

Blinded by the light, knowing nothing of days
I've got a Jesus handbag, a Jesus handbag
Drowning on the shore, giving nothing away
I've got a Jesus handbag, a Jesus handbag

Jesus handbag, what’s inside
All kinds of holy things to restore my pride
A nuclear tampon, fluffy pink handcuffs
And a mask so real I want to throw up

Blinded by the light, knowing nothing of days...

Middle, repeat, then

I came to regret and forget all I learned
Dancing on volcanoes just to get burned
I poisoned every single thing that I observed
I was the worm...the worm that got turned!

Wow! :)

I am writing a novel this month, but since I actually started it on late October, I'm not declaring it a proper NaNo. I have quite a bit of stuff going on in November this year, so I don't think I can commit to a heavy word count every day. Word count is an overrated metric for storytelling anyway, except maybe in the context of the publishing industry. What matters is how well you tell your story.

That said, I have written almost 6,000 words of my novel so far and have just started the third chapter this evening. I have a brief outline for almost the whole plot so that I have a clear idea of where I'm going with my project. It's a fantasy novel that incorporates influences from ancient Egypt and Nubia, sub-Saharan Africa, and the Middle East. It probably will have some dinosaurs too.

Two (72 bpm 4/4 -- D - A F/E/F# and other bits )

Woke up, daybreak, pale light round her shape
Had to get away, had to escape, from
The girl - was her dressing gown, puffy powder blue
Hurtling down the stairs - do I have to go so soon?

I know you don't believe in two
But I do
I know what you're leading me in to
And I don't want to go there

(band kicks in, 100bpm)

It's funny when you dig out those old photographs
You're back there in that space and time, which never was
Everything caught in an emotional freezeframe;
In your hands every single thing but a pause button, so panic now

Now I never thought I'd come to hate two
But I do
I resented everything I claimed I ever knew
When I realised I had spent my whole life...
Looking for you

Woke up, daybreak, there's noone there
Talk to the skies but they are depleted
Forgiveness coming down like a final summer shower
Feel a terminal winter setting in around your broken heart

Now I know there is no such thing as two
I always knew
Years of denial and retrials, issues and tissues
Be careful of what you wish for
Beware if you don't let it find you

All right! Awesome! You are inspiring.

My Nov2 count = 123!
Only 2,877 shy of my goal!!

That's family obligation for you.

I'm going to recover from Youmacon now. Haven't even started writing yet, and actually I haven't written anything yet this month at all. I think tomorrow after physical therapy I'll get some writing in. Nanowrimo is not off to a good start. A reasonable one yes, but not a good one.

It's been my dream to do Nanowrimo for years now but between school, work, and extracurriculars, I never have time!
Good luck to everyone who is, though!

Everyone hanging in there? Do you use the official website at all or read the pep talks?

I got in a few hundred words this morning. It's the first time I've been able to write this month. The last few days were really bad and dark for me mental health wise and before that was taken up by convention prep and the actual convention. I'm about to just give up on any sort of nanowrimo target goal with writing, and just write where I can when I can.

Hanging in there!

I am way behind and I don't care--I have a bunch of characters I did not have before, I worked out the basic sequencing and plot outline and I am only about 8,000 words behind my target. Also did some serious research into core parts of the story and this will all pay off. This book will get written! :D

I do read the pep talks a bit, though they don't all hold my attention. WrongPlanet makes for better procrastination.

I've given up on Nanowrimo. I seem to be incapable of managing my time. I haven't written anything this month beyond a few hundred words.

Going to remove this from my plate so I don't stress out over it.

Everyone I know has either dropped out or is seriously considering dropping out. :(

I'm going to try to hit 22k today.

Good work on getting so far.

I think about my writing constantly. I've got a few ideas to implement on the story I'm working on.

But between not finding time for writing, and my mental health problems, it's just not happening.
