Looking at the past in a new persepective

Life is full of retro stuff, so with that said......
Do you like to take a new look at old things? I sure do, and by imagining things from the past from a new perspective, it's quite fun to see how things would've been had I been there right now at the age I am at now. :)

I don't know if this is exactly what you mean, but I often imagine what it would be like to go back in time with modern recording equipment and to record some famous musical concert heretofore only hearable via surviving primitive 78 rpm discs [the 1938 benny goodman & allstars jazz concert at Carnegie hall]. I wonder how that would have sounded live and/or via a true high-fidelity recording.

They would sound very crystal clear, I will tell you that. :)

I would love to go in the WABAC machine with my portable digital recorder, and record Enrico Caruso at the met in his full glory. lord, it would be neat to be able to hear his voice as it was rather than in the pinched and reductive representation of it which survives via scratchy old acoustic 78 rpm discs.

if I were to board the WABAC machine and went back to look anew at all my mistakes [very few successes to dwell upon back there/then] it would be less than edifying.
