I've just started watching anime, so far I've watched My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away, and most of Attack on Titan. Anyone have any recommendations for any series/movies?

What genre are you most after. What sites would you use to watch? Do you go more for humor or serious. Are you ok watching moe?

You went from Studio Ghibli to Attack on Titan?

You have not given much specifics of what you want. Maybe since you might be okay with the darkness of Attack on Titan, I could recommend Death Note, I am kind of sick of the series, but it can be good for beginners who want something smart.

If you want to try something super cute and easy to watch, maybe try Acchi Kocchi.

Pandora Hearts tends to be popular among girls, got some action and mystery.

The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, is a pretty good movie.

Kamisama Hajimemashita, might also be a nice romantic comedy, or maybe Kimi ni Todoke.

Trying to look at something that matches interests, well if you like reading, maybe try Dantalian no Shoka.

If you liked Attack on Titan, you might also like:

Puella Magi Madoka Magica
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Black Rock Shooter
Elfen Lied
Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni
Naru Taru (also known as "Shadow Star", not to be confused with Naruto)
Bokurano
Steins;Gate

All of them incredibly dark and disturbing. They're all very good but I'm afraid that since I am a sensitive soul I was only able to finish four of the ones I listed, and even then there were times when things got so horrific/sad for the characters that I almost gave up.

I'd advise to be very careful with Higurashi because it does not follow the conventional series format of going from point A to point B. If you want answers, you'll have to remain committed - the second season has all the answers you need, but I couldn't get past the jarring reset-button after every arc, nor... a certain twin...

Anyway, as others have aforementioned, going from Studio Ghibli material to Attack on Titan is quite a wide genre-jump and I don't know what you like to see in a show. Good animation? Strong characterisation? A decent soundtrack? Slice-of-life or wild fantasy? A heavy thought provoking story, or COTD-style affairs?

Could you elaborate a little more on what your tastes are? The last thing I'd personally want to do is be presumptuous and recommend things based on my own interests (which don't involve moe at all by the way).

Someone already mentioned "Ghost in the Shell", so I'll recommend "Titan A.E.", even though it is not strictly "Anime".

Yes, Cowboy Bebop, one of my favorites.
My sister has a Corgi that looks just like "Ein" from that show. Those dogs are a riot!

Completely forgot about these. They are excellent. :thumleft:

Though if you choose to watch Hellsing, make sure you only watch the 10-part OVA; it's a direct adaptation of the manga and has better characters.

Other series that are good which I previously forgot to recommend:

Trinity Blood
Black Butler
Hetalia

AspieOtaku suggested HunterXHunter 2011. I would suggest starting with the original.

Thanks for all the recommendations! I know I didn't give anyone much to go on.
(Also, I watched Attack on Titan because someone in my Japanese class recommended it, because it's relatively short.)
I'll be honest, I don't really know what specific genre I'm looking for. I forgot to mention, I've also seen Akira, but I wasn't crazy about it. I'll try some of those suggestions! Thanks again!

A few you should try that I don't think anyone mentioned yet...

Sailor Moon
Magic Knight Rayearth
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure

About Akira, I personally feel that the anime movie is far inferior in terms of storytelling to its source material, the Akira manga, which is large enough that it was contained in 6 phonebook-sized volumes. The movie leaves out a lot of crucial plot elements, characterisations, and events, and leaves in some things that it doesn't bother to explain properly. I DID in fact enjoy the movie, but mostly because it was cool to see the characters I had read about come to life in animation, but 90 minutes is not enough to properly tell the story of Tetsuo and Kaneda.

you should watch the rest of the ghibli movies, like princess mononoke and howl's moving castle. they're all very good :D
other good anime movies are 5cm per second, wolf children and summer wars, to name a few.
for "darker" shows/movies you should check out Satoshi Kon.
