If you have some time and some spare obsessive cycles, consider helping with the search for the Smith family whose plane went down in Idaho. The grid-by-grid search of geo-satellite images is done via the Tomnod.com crowdsourced website.

It's a really nice idea, but unless I'm missing something it seems kind of pointless. One blurry satellite image? How many people really need to be looking at that? If an air and ground search has failed to find them, it seems highly unlikely that some random internet person is going to find the plane in one blurry image.
