Wrongplanet - Great site, but in urgent need of a revamp.
Hi guys.
I'm a fairly new user to Wrongplanet, and I love being part of this wonderful online community, but I just want to say, that the whole interface of the website is downright terrible.
For a start, the interface is really basic, and dated.
For example, there's no way on the main page, to see search up other people's posts, by their username.
I've found out how to but it's more like a link somebody gave me, not an actual link on the main page.
Also, this really annoys me, almost every function on the site is like errors galore, from posting, to browsing, comes up with an error of some kind. Usually a page refresh fixes it almost instantly, Usually refreshing the page once or twice fixes it.
I'll say it again, Wrongplanet is fantastic, and it's helping me accept my aspergers. (Something I found hard previously, and still do) However the site needs an urgent revamp.
I'm sure there's plenty of people within the community, who have previous experience with building, and maintaining websites, and with their help, WP's website should become a totally stylish website.
What do you guys think?
Thanks

That sounds bad to me. I think "next week" would have a better ring to it.
Stop being self righteous about your **** not working. Your **** doesn't work. Nobody is interested in anything except when it will be resolved.
MyFutureSelfnMe, you have been making several increasingly inflammatory posts in this sub-forum in a very short time. Please tone down your rhetoric.
Many posters are more than capable of voicing their discontent with certain subjects on WP without resorting to outright flaming. I suggest you learn from them.

Ahh, a bit of impatience...
Do you have any idea, any at all, how much work is in creating bug-free software?

Yes, I do it for a living, and it's amply obvious that you guys are dropping the ball. Don't call me impatient. I've been sitting here watching this thing break for months. If I were doing similar work for a client and the site was having issues like these, the client would expect resolution in hours. And then I would get reamed out for not being able to predict that it would happen. That's for the bugfixes that aren't happening. Then there's the redesign, which Alex decided to get started on a couple years late and with a timeline a couple years too long. It might not be material to this site, which already has enough users, but it's a gamble. If I owned a site with this many daily users, I would be moving a few mountains.

Nuke has a decrepid codebase that dates back to PHP3 - Fact is, to make sure that the site is completely bug free, it would require a full re-development which, wait for it, with only one developer takes time - And time that Alex doesn't exactly have to sit infront of a PC all day.
I, for one, do my best with my site, but again, I'm only one person. AN2.0 is many months overdue and will be for some time, as it is custom.
Deal with it, or log out and don't come back for a while. Easy
