So nobody called out the classic circular reasoning in the OP?
"I know the Bible is true because it says so in the Bible" is nonsense.
I used to debate Jehovah's Witnesses when they came door knocking many years ago and they often used the same circular reasoning when I questioned the authority of the bible. They didn't seem able to comprehend their fundamental error.
I still do, when they knock (which for some reason is getting rarer, can't think why
) I invite them in and get them a nice cuppa. WHen my neighbour saw them coming out of my house last time (looking somewhat bedraggled) he asked me why? My response, "its sport"
I generally start off by asking them why they pray ostentatiously in a group when their boss tells them not to, to which they invariably respond "no Jesus didnt'', then I tell them to get the book out, go to matthew 6:5-6 "“Whenever you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, because they love to pray while standing in synagogues and on street corners so that people can see them. Truly I say to you, they have their reward. But whenever you pray, go into your room, close the door, and pray to your Father in secret. And your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you” This generally sets the tone for the debate which inevitably ends with me giving them a lesson on what constitutes a scientific theory and admonishing them for continuing to say that evolution is wrong about the "creation' of life. f*****g idiots
