113, though I am beginning to wonder if perhaps the test is too sensitive/inclusive; most of my answers were "Undecided" (unless the fact that I do knot know how I feel about how I feel is, in and of itself, indicative of Alexithymia, lol).

I'm somewhat okay at identifying my own emotions, but clueless about other people's.

It became very clear to me when I was getting therapy that I struggle to identify emotions. I did some research and learned about alexithymia. It fits me really well except I have no problems with my imagination. I actually have an active imagination and am very creative. None of my therapists ever picked up that I have alexithymic traits. They all seemed to think I was being deliberately difficult. I would answer questions about feelings with "I don't know" because I didn't know! They thought I was lying.

I just sent this link to an ADHD forum that was about not understanding emotions.

I scored 110 which is a surprise to me because years ago I was far worse. I think my old score is posted somewhere here. It might have been 170. I suppose that is an improvement.

I remember just getting instantly upset and not knowing why, then I started to realise sudden change was happening. So once I became more aware I started to gain more understanding about that emotion, and then I just started trying to work out why I was having an emotion, labeling it and finding out why I was having it at all. I still get confused at times which is probably why I still get a mild Alexithymia score.

The imagination and dreams questioned intrigued me. I've always had a very vivid imagination and rich memorable dreams that actually leave me exhausted after I wake up. There are some things I struggle with such as talking to people about my emotions or even coping with other peoples emotions.

I get physical symptoms too but with anxiety and depression I would expect I'd get these type of sensations.

These days I'm more aware of my emotions probably because of their intensity. I would hardly be able to cope with the high anxiety, anger, extreme happiness I get from time to time and not being able to name those emotions. I remember not to long ago feeling anxious and not knowing why, so I started to consider all the possible reasons for it and found the solution. Most times I explain my emotions by naming the symptoms. I used to have a 'ranty' mood that was really agitated depression that comes with bipolar, usually when mania is changing to depression.

I never thought about it, but this is absolutely true for me too. Looking back, I've had obvious hypomanic and depressive phases since my early teens – but at the time, I was honestly unaware of having mood swings. I felt like I was always the same, but the world was sometimes kind to me, and sometimes not.

At one point I wasn't aware I had bipolar and I thought that either 1) This was ADHD or 2)ADHD meds are supposed make you feel this way (manic). I was a mildly depressed teen. My first hypomanic episodes were on anti-depressants in my early 20s.

i got 71 overall, meaning little to no traits of it, but the one category i did get quite a high score in was problematic relationships.

which i sort of saw coming, but to me the problem is that the test assumed that not acting on other people's feelings means not recognising or understanding them, but to me it... doesn't? like i tend to understand other peoples feels pretty well, but i don't usually act on that understanding because i'm. kind of scared of emotional closeness i guess?
