I'm on a free dating website called Plentyoffish and I have been searching the ads for 18-29 year old women and I noticed a lot of women in the ads are single mothers.

I'm recultant in saying hi because I am an university student living with my dad until I graduate and get a job in accounting. My social life has improved somewhat recently, however the interests and activities* apart from places like wrongplanet do not really led me to meet girls. In my case I see online being as good a place as any to meet girls.

* I'm a nerd who is interested in things like History, Current Events, Economics, Attends regular martial arts classes. The only computer games I've really liked are The Sims, The Sims 2, Halo and Grand Theft Auto Series and I hardly watch television, let alone have any interest in Anime.

You shouldn't always trust websites like that.

Usually I would not, but plentyoffish was highly recommended to me.

I tried signing up for Eharmony one time....they denied me because "my interests and personality was not compatible to anyone" and that it was rare....something like less then 5% of all applicants fall into that catagory.

I say screw online dating sites, lol.

When it comes to any dating sites, as well as people on them, there is an old Russian proverb that fits the situation perfectly: trust, but verify.

Yeah, that was fun for me too. I don't care how they phrase it, it sure came off as "Sorry, we don't think you're compatible with, well, anyone! Good luck! :D"

That basically happened to me too. They did not say that, but they never sent me any matches.

If you don't want to date mothers, don't.

O:

Snap! That IS rare. I guess my skepticism of online dating sites was right, especially this one, which has been commercialized a lot. I would have thought that they would have been better set up to avoid this. Ah well.

Yeah, no online dating sites for me. The lack of face-to-face and physical contact isn't worth it for me.
