Who else does too? I have this weather station, and it's like i care about that thing more than anything else, with empathy. It would honestly hurt me more seeing someone destroy it, or see it fall over and break, then to see my friends at school get hurt. I treat that thing better than I do myself aha! Who else has very strong attachments to inanimate objects? And this is a classic autism sign, yes?

I also just think it's so cute with the spinning spoons going around in circle.

Empathy is a social skill.

Empathy is the ability to notice, interpret and react appropriately to nonverbal social cues. The ability to sense another's emotional state and respond with the proper behavior.

Inanimate objects give out no nonverbal social cues and do not exhibit emotional states (with the possible exception of puppets).

Weather Stations are made from the same Star Dust as we.

I'd like to see a picture of your weather station. :)

if i throw an object or misuse it i feel an immense amount of guilt, or even making fun of an object makes me feel bad. i was always attached to a single object throughout my life.

My dad and uncle are basically bikers.
weekend warrior types rather than Hells Angel types, but they know a lot of those.
Anyways, to some of these guys their motorcycle is everything to them.
They are totally in love with the things, and are constantly working on them and polishing them and w/e
They buy their bikes birthday and anniversary gifts like a new chrome part.
So based on that I can't see this as an autism thing.

ah I made a thread on this topic a while back but it never really got off the ground. I believe that all matter is animated. At the quantum level matter demonstrates properties of consciousness. Look into the double slit experiment for example. At the atomic level matter is potential that is the nucleus and electron are not physcal matter as we believe it to be. They exist in potential states and places. They exist everywhere and nowhere.

I believe that "Inanimate matter" has a rude consciousness. It just lacks the organisational structure to give rise to neural and qualitative phenomena
