I'm an aspie, and computers have been a passion of mine for most of my life. I've been playing around with them since I was three years old, and I've gotta tell ya, it's not a stereotype, for myself it's an actual thing. Granted, I do not know exactly why computers are so fascinating to myself and a lot of other people on the spectrum, but I can say that they have a lot of neat components, they do nifty things, and the way they work is probably quite conducive to the logical aspie mindset.
