My whole life I felt like I was completely unique and that no one else had a brain that worked like mine. After I was diagnosed as Asperger's at age 35, it made sense of the puzzle of my life, but I still didn't ever heard anyone voice my private thoughts. I can not describe how amazing it has been to read the posts here and feel like all my thoughts are shared by all these other people! Thank you all for expressing your fears, loves, and daily struggles. I appreciate it more than I can express.

I agree.
I used to always type in extremely detailed questions to Google about what was wrong with me and why i thought everything differently, and I never knew why until I found out that I have AS.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. I just keep reading and laughing as I see topic after topic posted here that I could have written word for word. It gives me so much hope that maybe someday I'll find someone to connect with. I had figured I would just be alone. Which isn't bad! But, it shocking to me as a grown-up lady to realize that all along I've had kindred spirits without ever knowing it.

^ I know, right? If I had known I was on the spectrum as a kid I would've probably enjoyed some kind of benefits set aside for those on the spectrum.

^ I certainly wouldn't have "owned" so much of the damaging "philosophies" put forward by pathetically ignorant and cruel ppl.
