I got an 81. I know from taking Psychological Assessment that this test is not a valid measure of "emotional intelligence." It's something to take for fun that might shed some light on the truth. However, it is not a scientific measurement of a trait.

Maybe if I had gotten a higher score I would say "Yeah. This test is incredibly valid and scientific." :)

Oddly enough, what this test calls "low emotional intelligence" can be reinforcing. There are things my friends find "endearing" about me that could account for my "low EQ." For instance, I have a friends from college who think it's hilarious that I freak out when I lose my keys. Freaking out over "little things" has actually made some people like me more! But then there's my boyfriend who gets woken up when I can't sleep because I throw a fit...

94- average EQ. These tests are designed by NTs for NTs. They measure self-esteem levels, not actual interpersonal skills. My self-esteem is pretty good, but I still have big communication problems. If the test had concentrated on how a person actually relates to others, I would have scored a lot lower.

I got 89... but I really don't think that things like how often you like to think you're stupid actually relate to this...

Your Score: 116
"Your EIQ is excellent - much higher than average. This means that, in general, you are able to express your feelings clearly in appropriate situations. You are optimistic and positive, and adapt well to changed circumstances. You deal effectively with stress, interact with others and communicate adequately. You are comfortable with yourself, and you know and appreciate your talents and strong points as well as your weaknesses. You are able to motivate yourself, find the energy and the strength necessary to complete what you need to do to reach your goals. You are one of the resilient people who bounce back after major drawbacks, survive hardship without bitterness, and still manage to empathize with others. These skills will certainly bring you long-term benefits such as stronger relationships, better health and personal happiness." :o

I got a 91, but there is only one problem. I don't HAVE emotions. At least, not strong ones, mine are very faint, and have almost no affect on what I do. I agree, this test is bogus.

I got an 85 on this one.

A while ago, I took a really long, detailed EQ test. It involved identifying emotions in different pictures, saying what people should do in certain situations, saying how certain situations would make someone feel, etc. I got a really low score. I think it was 50 or 60. It basically said I'm emotionally ret*d.

I don't think most of us here on these forums would need a test to confirm that!
