Cool beans, Kraichgauer. Let the board know what you thought of RoboCop when the thread for it comes along. I'll probably catch it next month (when my money is a bit less tight), though I also want to see 12 Years A Slave, which here in Europe sees its premiere next week.

I certainly will. My wife and I plan to catch it on Valentines Day.

can't believe they are making the Mysterious Cities of Gold into a film. I'm not sure what I think about that!

Pardon my ignorance, but what is that?

It is a french made serial from the early 80s, that was cancelled after one season. It is generally held to be the best animated children's series ever made.

It has recently been resurrected by the original creators, who are picking it up where it left off. They are also producing a series of live action films.

It was also a big part of my childhood and again at university when a group of us found the episodes on line, downloaded them and then started to go through them where we had a select few of us who were gatekeepers who had to present for an episode to be watched. So as much as it would be great to have a film of it, I am nervous that they will butcher such fond memories. I'm just not sure they can re create the essence of what made it such a compelling children's cartoon.
