So basically you hate the word 'basically' because like the word 'fantastic' it sounds pretentious for people trying to make their point sound more interesting ? :P

Linguists find that fascinating.

English has always had prefixes, and suffixes ( stuff stuck on either the beginning, or on the end of words to add meaning).

But English isnt supposed to have "infixes". Exotic languages like Swahili, or Eskimo, have syllables stuck into the middle of words to modify meaning, but not English.

Until NOW.

Now we have "Farf**king out!", and "Fanf**kingtastic!".

So this might be a trend toward English starting to have infixes.

When I was a kid, I was actually scared of the word vest for some reason.

I also hate the word, selfie. Another word that I hate is normal. Normal according to what? Normal according to the NT world. No, thank you. There's a reason I'm living part of the 60s Mod lifestyle. It's because I like to be myself and celebrate my uniqueness. Bring on the greasers, Rockers, Mods, swingers, hippies, flower children dandies, rainbows, divas and Punk Rockers! Let's have a unique celebration of unique people! 8)

For some reason the expression "per se" makes my skin crawl.

(Because the two are always used together I'm pretending it counts as a single word. :) )

OS fan boy - Because we'll always have these stupid arguments online as long as people can't come to the realization that there's no such thing as a superior OS :( I use Linux and don't think it's superior because it's my choice of OS and even Linux has it's flaws and frustrating moments...

It's a tie between "app" and "gadget" atm.
I thought about app,
I really hate that one, bromance has to be up there some where too, If you want a bad reaction out of me all you have is to use that one. I have always tried to avoid the word "but", it just sounds gross, weird and out of place most of the time and really bad if you think in pictures, definitely over used, however is usually a good substitute.

Pinhead

My sister uses this word whenever I say or do something wrong. I'm sure she means no harm when she uses this word, but there are other words that mean the same as "pinhead."

"Bestest", because it doesn't sound like it is really a word at all, and it doesn't make sense to me. If people think something is the best, then they should say it is the "best" because to me, it sounds more proper.

Swag. It sounds bad and the meaning is downright stupid.
