I think you'd have better luck asking people what films they'd watch multiple times-- imo most films are only worth 1 viewing, it's a rare gem that gets replayed.

Mary and Max. I saw it last night. It's depressing material with no need to see it again. I got it the first time.

Goodness yes! I was an absolute wreck watching this film. When it got to the ending reveal I completely lost it. I had a hard week after watching this film trying to keep my emotions in check and even now I get a bit teary-eyed just thinking about this movie. I didn't even cry when I watch UP but this film messed me up emotionally. I dunno if I can even sit through it again because of its effect on me which sucks because I love Adam Elliot's work.

  • * Gone with the Wind
  • * The Ten Commandments
  • * Monty Python and the Holy Grail
  • * Crash
  • * The Princess Bride
  • * Man of the Year
  • * The Mask

I wouldn't say any of these movies are "great", though, as I didn't like any of them.

The only one that comes to my mind is The Deer Hunter. I felt so dead inside and depressed when the movie was done.
I'm sure Requiem For A Dream would be on this list if I ever finished watching it. I saw the hole that movie was going down and decided I did not feel like becoming depressed with the world.

Eye's Wide Shut.
Another Year-2010. I am glad I saw it as I like Mike Leigh I just thought it was maddening.

D. W. Griffith was a cinematic genius who invented most of the tropes we see in modern motion pictures.
