Alex Plank is a friend of mine. I was wondering how many active Wrong Planet members have actually met Alex in person or do you mostly interact with him online?

I've never spoke to him. Where did you meet him in person at?

We met at an autism event where he was the MC in 2011. We've been friends ever since. How long have you been on WP?

You're very lucky to have him for a friend in real life. :)

I "met" him once in passing but he was very rude/dismissive.

See you in April at the conference on Long Island. That is if I do not stay up all night reading Wrong Planet and oversleep your morning keynote.

Wait, what? Why do they always give me the morning keynote. . . I don't think they understand the 3 hour time difference.

I like this, it proves that Alex has a sense of humor.

Diagnosed under the DSM5 rules with autism spectrum disorder, under DSM4 psychologist said would have been AS (299.80) but I suspect that I am somewhere between 299.80 and 299.00 (Autism) under DSM4.

I met Alex a few weeks ago at a CARD conference in Orlando. Alex was one of the keynote speakers, and we also had a couple of "No NTs allowed" sessions where we ask questions and socialize. I would like to speak at some of these conference myself some day (not sure if I could ever be a keynote, but you never know - Toastmasters has been very helpful for me).

How do you know who it is, then? Did he mention his user name when you met in passing? Or am I missing a joke here?

User "Alex" is Alex Plank. He's making a joke about meeting himself.

I'm new and a bit of a creeper.

Alex did or do you play clarinet? I noticed the mention in your email address.
