This has been a roller coaster day.
But at last something.
I spoke with the director of a local ASD support group, and in speaking with her, she said it sounded like I need to pursue it further. She referred me to a psychologist locally who does the diagnosis.
While he does not accept my insurance, he could work out payments, but even in speaking with me over the phone, he said I sounded like a candidate. He even referred me to other services that he thought might be able to assist as well.
All within the last two hours.
FINALLY, I might get an official diagnosis. Finally.

That's great news :) I'm going in for my last set of tests tomorrow, and I remember how exciting it was to finally get confirmation that there was someone out there who could test me properly. Hope all goes well, keep us posted!

Good luck to the both of you. Nice to hear stories of psychologists who don't dismiss ASD for a change.

I've been thinking about going to the Adult Autism Clinic to see if I can get another diagnosis. I've been skeptical lately. Maybe it's just my insecurity or anxiety talking.
