I say "the departed".
It was amazing, and if it wasn't for the lousy ending, it would've been one of the best movies ever made.

I'm probably biased, but I'd have to say Apocalypto.

I saw Eragon, and as a big fantasyfan, I of course have to pose that as the best movie of 2006 :P
And I loved the movie.

I still need to see The Departed, what I did see that was completely off the hook was Running Scared - other than that Illusionist was pretty good, still want to see The Prestige, nothing's really coming to mind right now...

Casino Royale. Much better than the novel it was based on, and that's saying something from me.

I had a whole thread about my opinion of films 2006, but my #1 favorite film of the year was "The Fountain." So many people beg for originality in movies, and here comes a completely original film that nobody sees because it "looks weird."

I haven't seen many, but the best I've seen is Deja Vu, I didn't even blink during the entire movie...

It was a good year for films. Of the ones I saw, I would say The Queen.

My favorite movie of last year was Marie Antoinette. It's just such a beautiful movie.

Pan's Labyrinth. BEST. MOVIE. EVER. (I'm sorry, I just had to repeat that.)

Honorable mentions go out to:
- Little Miss Sunshine
- The Departed
- Happy Feet
- Dreamgirls

The worst movie of 2006, out of all the ones I've seen, is The Da Vinci Code. But on the so-bad-it's-good level, my choice is a film called Romeo & Juliet: Sealed With a Kiss, an animated, family-friendly retelling of the Shakespeare tragedy with not only a happy ending, but almost all the characters are sea lions.

I second that, I just saw it last night, simply frackin' awesome. What didn't you like about the ending? I thought it was very Greek Tragedy.

They could've made it more clever, if the writers had tried harder.

Children of Men. It's one of the only films that really touched me.
