Is Person of Interest becoming redundant?

It is getting to the point I am always five minutes ahead of this show. First the plot was spread all over the place, now it just seems linear.

I think it varies by the episode. For example, tonight's storyline had quite a few surprises, especially the Machine supposedly ordering murder.
