I got a new Dell a few weeks ago, opted for Vista on the advice of 2 people I know who are computer-savvy. Started getting error messages from day one. When I called Dell software support (4 times) they all blamed vista. They all said to me "Microsoft is working night and day to come up with fixes". Seems Bill put this one out way too early. I'm averaging 3 error messages every time I restart my computer, so Dell has kindly offered to replace my whole laptop. I'll give Vista one more try, and if it still doesn't work, I'm requesting XP.
Can't see that Vista is all that different, in fact there are a few things about both Vista and Office 2007 that IMO are worse than predecessors. Vista at this point is an unstable operating system. But what can we do? Bill has the monopoly and that's not likely to change any time soon, I figure. Unless one of you guys can figure out a way to beat him at his own game
