No, that's not correct. The symmetry breaking of the Higgs field only explains how elementary particle got their masses. We don't know what caused the Big Bang because in order to explain that, we need a theory of quantum gravity. Alex Vilenkin's theory of chaotic inflation and bubble nucleation may be an explanation for the Big Bang.
