Ever Heard of the Northwest hick accent.I have it.
It's people who grew up in the Northwest but

I'm from Seattle. I don't have that sort of accent, as far as I can tell.

^ You have more of a TV announcer accent. Like people on the news, but sharper and with a little more personality.

I have been living in Portland all my life, and as far as I can tell, I don't speak with that sort of accent.

I didn't really either until I moved out here from Portland. Places like Happy Valley and Rose Valley have a lot of people like that. They're all over Columbia County.

I know in eastern Washington they have a bit of an accent, they tend to say "warshintun" and also they say ruff instead of roof. that is what I've noticed. in the northern Puget sound corridor towards Bellingham they start sounding a bit Canadian.

^ My grandparents are from Rainier and Astoria, and both sides say things like "warsh" and "ruff." Maybe I got it from them? idk

I remember seeing an "regional accent map" a while back which seemed to indicate a large wodge of land between eastern Washington/ Idaho, stretching down to northern California abutting the Oregon border, where there was lots of warsh and ruff spoken.
