One of my siblings' high school teachers grew up in the 60's when they had to do these nuclear attack drills in school and all the students had to go under their desks. She grew up in NewYork City so she had a NewYork accent, and she attended a Catholic school. She remembers during one of the nuclear attack drills, she stuck her head out from under her desk and called to the teacher saying, "Sista, I don't think this is gonna help!"
