ournalists are there to provide us with truth and facts, not with hysterical myths or unconfirmed facts that need to be denied later on because they proved to be copied too hastily.
There is a well known saying that "Journalists don't let the truth get in the way of a good story". Many don't care that their articles aren't accurate, merely that they are read and popular.
Journalists can be downright awful in situations like this. After Newtown, one family that was affected had journalists in their bushes looking through the windows of their house. The family couldn't answer the door bell or leave their house without a police escort at first. They had to rely on friends to do things like go grocery shopping for them.
The current situation with AS in the media like this scares me. I want people to know I have AS because people need to know what it is like for someone with it. I am open about being autistic for the same reason that I am scared. I don't know if I'm making any sense or not.
