Famed African American poet Maya Angelou has passed away. She taught us why the caged bird sings.

I've read some of her works--profound, yet accessible.

I was sad when I found out she passed away.

She was quite healthy until recently.

This did NOT happen.

Now I am unhappy.

God takes the best, and leaves us Howard Stern, Miley Cyrus, and Rush Limbaugh......where is the justice?!

She left a great legacy, and an indelible imprint on the world.

I meant people who could do anything with their lives, their fame, their ambition, and who waste it all on silliness and superficiality, whereas Dr. Angelou had abuse, poverty, discrimination, fear, fought it all, and became the splendid woman that every woman looks up to.

Don't think it too tragic. She lived 86 years and died in her sleep. I think she got pretty lucky.

She lived an excellent life, left behind a good body of work, and now she's debating social problems (possibly over a good wine) with John Steinbeck in the Great Ivory Tower in the Sky.
